How To Wear A Neckband Headset

A neckband headset is a type of headset that connects to your mobile phone via Bluetooth. Many models are designed with a neckband along which most of the electronics are housed. Some also have an ear piece on one end, while others house it in the band. The neckband ends in a Y shape, where one arm goes around your neck and the other goes over your head to connect to an earpiece placed behind your ear.

Place the earpiece behind your ear. Make sure that it fits securely and comfortably.Hold the headset with the wire linking to the ear piece held in your hand. Slip your hand under the band on either side of the Y shape of the neckband to hold it securely. Align both arms of the Neckband on top of each other.

Plug In Your headphones

Plug the other end of your headset cord into your phone’s audio port. If you are using a Bluetooth- enabled phone, it may be plugged in or inserted into the USB port on the side of your computer. Ensure that this cord is secure before moving forward to step 2.

Step On Your Phone

If you are using a Bluetooth-enabled phone, make sure that it is turned on and that pairing has taken place between your handset and your headset. This option varies depending on what type of mobile device you have. It can usually be found under “Settings,” though this terminology may vary from one model to another, so consult your user manual if necessary for assistance with finding these options in your particular device

Examine The Left And Right Earpieces

Before putting your new headset on, examine the ear pieces to ensure that they fit comfortably and securely. Although most headsets come in one-size-fits-all models, some can be adjusted for a more customized fit. Look at the two earpieces to see if there are magnets in them.

If there are, they should be opposite of each other. Also, look for hinges or arms that you can bend to adjust its size. You may need to twist these parts away from each other in order to make these adjustments before inserting them into your ears. In addition, inspect for jagged edges or frayed wiring coming out of the earpiece area which could lead to shorting out during usage and subsequent electrocution or fire hazard.

Insert The Earphones

Take note of the rubber casing on each earpiece as you insert it into your ear. Ensure that the right and left sides are facing up as they should be inserted, or else they will not be able to work properly. If you do not know which is the left and which is the right side for your particular headset, check with its manual or online instructions for further clarification. It will help you to find out which side is left and right.

Ensure that they are securely fitted into your ear. Turn them over to ensure that the wire leading to the neckband is on top of your head and not behind it, as this could cause a short circuit inside the headset’s circuitry. They should be hanging from both ears without being bent or hooked behind either one.

Don’t Wear Your Headphones The Wrong Way!

Some people have gotten used to wearing their headsets backwards so that they can still hear what is going on around them. This makes sense for some types of hands-free devices such as speaker phones, but it is important to wear a neckband style headset correctly so you don’t damage it or hurt yourself in any way.

Wear The Neckband Properly

When you put a neckband style headset on, ensure that the two arms of the neckband are touching each other securely. They should not be separated or hanging downwards as this will allow them to slide off too easily. Make sure that the wire leading from each earpiece is pointing towards your chest as well as being near your shoulders so it doesn’t slip down and cause short circuits with the circuitry in your headset. This could potentially create a shock or electrocution hazard which can lead to injury.

Put The Neckband On

Now put your new neckband on by putting one arm at a time through either side of your Y-shaped band before grabbing the upright arms together in front of you. Maximize pressure across all areas of your neck to get superior stability while listening to music, playing games, etc.

Experiment With A Variety Of Tips

Some headsets will come with more than one size of rubber tips. Experiment by using different sizes to see which ones fit most comfortably and securely in your ear, so that you can get the best quality sound possible from your headset.

Make Sure To Follow The Manufacturer’s Instructions

You should always follow any instructions provided by the manufacturer for your particular model of headset when inserting it into or onto your ears and neck. Doing this ensures that you do not damage them and that they work efficiently and effectively. Remember: Safety first! If after following all instructions given by manufacturers you find yourself still unsatisfied with how a particular model works, try another one on for size to see if it performs better instead!

Thoroughly Clean After Every Use

Although your headset may be waterproof, it is important to use caution when cleaning them. Even if they are water-resistant, it is best to avoid using strong chemicals on them like bleach or alcohol. The safest way use of antibacterial wipes (like Clorox) dampened with lukewarm water on the ear pieces and neck band after every use. This will ensure that your unit performs optimally for as long as possible.Keeping it clean will help prolong its life.

Step Off The Phone

If you are using a Bluetooth- enabled phone, make sure that it is turned off before taking your new headset off at the end of usage for the day. Make sure to remove the earpieces carefully yet quickly in order to limit exposure time while not in use; any amount of time spent with the earpieces in while not in use on your phone is potentially dangerous.

Do Not Have A Heart-Attack!

Remember, it may be very exciting to get your new headset at first, but make sure you are sitting down when taking it out of its packaging and putting on for the first time. It is crucial that you do this safely to avoid any injuries or accidents that could have been easily prevented by simply being more cautious. If possible, have a friend or family member help you get used to wearing one the first few times around if needed.

Enjoy Your New Neckband Headset!

Now go ahead and enjoy your brand new neckband headset! Please remember to follow these instructions carefully over time so that you can get the most use out of your new device. Always remember that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure in this situation, so it’s much better to be safe than sorry with your brand new headset.

Please note: Some headsets come with two loops, one at each end of the neckband, that you can respectively put over your head and behind your neck.

If you’ve misplaced or lost the instructions to your particular headset, check out the manufacturer’s website for a copy of them. Many manufacturers also provide one online. It is important that before using any new electrical appliance, you read and adhere to all safety warnings provided by the manufacturer.
